Ordered these because it was said you could use speed loaders with these grips, yea sorta tight. It can be done but a tight fit. the reason I went back to the S&W grips is because at the front of the pistol grip these grips form a point I personally found uncomfortable especially when firing. The worst part is I had to scrape down the inside of the grips to get it to fit my 642, so I couldn't return the grips. I only took 1 star because the discomfort is clearly subjective, I didn't take any stars for the unreturnablity after fitting them because I'm not sure that is supposed to go in a product review but I was sure I wanted you to know about it.While they are nicely made, they don’t fit my forty year old Model 60 J frame round butt well at all. Gaps in front where the two stocks meet and they don’t go up the back of the grip frame far enough. They may fit newer S&W’s better. The variances in manufacturing of revolvers don’t make a great fit a given. Also, Amazon shipped them in a padded envelope and the product packaging (clamshell) was crushed on one end. The grips were not damaged but could have been if something heavy fell on the envelope vI have more than a few handguns. Most have factory or custom wood grips and some have horn or antler. But for the guns I carry concealed or routinely in the field I prefer G10. Of my guns with G10, all but one were made by VZ.Little if any fitting is required and when needed easily cared for with Emory Cloth and light oil on a cloth to bring back the finish.I really like the 320's. Smooth enough to not snag or wear on your clothes but have more than enough surface texture to aid in hanging on to your firearm.Never a regret. They fit great on my S&W 340PD. They are well machined. The dual color goes really well with the titanium cylinder. When I recieved these grips I installed them on my weapon and the first thing I noticed was how dry and slippery they were. I started to send then back and get the diamond cut version but a couple of days went by and I was cleaning some of my other guns and I decided to coat these grips with a thin layer of Ballistol and the problem was instantly solved. Now the are a lot more grippy... And they are very nice looking.Smooth enough not snag on clothing, shapely enough to lock into hand under full recoil of .38spl + p.I have a 442 wearing theses grips. My J frame is my back up in the pocket carry(DeSantis Nemesis), riding in Duluth ballroom USA made jeans(12" deep front pockets). When I first installed these grips I used some 400 grit sand paper to break some of the edges to my liking. This is discretionary, for VZ grips are made with precision above others; Hogue, Pierce, Altamont, and Pachmyer do not rival or compare.Great grips better than the stock ones, only issue is they are not flush at the bottom, the base of the revolver sticks out a bit. Honestly it's no big deal doesn't bother me but still noticeable and might be an issue for others.A good product from VZ! Took me about two minutes to remove stock grips and replace with these. Fit was very near perfect, only flaw was right by the hammer. Both sides don't quite pull tight to center shank of the handle. Also would like to note that these grips are a little slippery, however, when used for a ccw they are great as your clothing won't snag on the grips.
