We have pet birds so sometimes our house erupts for a day or two with seed moths if they are in an order of feed. Before having these Oxo storage containers, we’d generally find a few weeks later that those moths had somehow laid eggs or found they way into other storage containers - lidded crocks, mason jars, ziplock bags all failed us. I now put all susceptible grains etc into these. Zero loss to moths since switching over last year. The squared / rectangle shapes let me fit more into our pantry than rounded shapes.I own many different air tight containers and have always wanted someone to review them in one place so I could read before buying. I hope this is helpful to others. I hand wash all containers regardless of instructions to preserve the life of the containers. Here's my take on all of them.OXO POPMy favorite. These are beautiful, easy to use, and stack well. Made of a fragile hard plastic.PROS-Easiest to seal and unlock seal-Airtight-Lots if different sizes for different items-They stack well-Easy to grab/grip-Easy to pour contents-Easy to see through them-Absolutely beautiful storage containers-Makes pantry inventory simple (and dare I say a pleasure :)CONS- Very expensive-They break very easily. One drop and they're done for which is a huge bummer considering how expensive they are-They scratch very easily-Shipping is an issue. We ordered ours from two different sites (Macy's had a sale that applied to them which helped since they are so $$$$). However both Amazon and Macy shipped scratched (long, deep scratches on the sides) containers, Amazon had some that were scratched and some that were broken.-Not easy to clean. The lids have to be taken apart and take a long time to dry. Putting them back together takes practice to get it just rightNOTEWhile they do stack, my advice measure what you have now before buying. My preference is the rectangular containers, not the squares. Trying to use both does not translate well in the pantry for stacking so I found that the rectangular containers combined with the 1.5 qt taller square one worked well for me.GLASSLOCKI use these to store wheat germ, ground flax seed, and other baking ingredients in the fridge. They are made of a thick, heavy glass with a plastic locking lid.PROS-Airtight-They stack well-Easy to grab/grip-Easy to see through them-Glass - no leaching from plastic unless you fill container until it touches lid (tough to do since the lid is slightly raised)-They do not scratch easily. I use anything I want to remove the contents and haven't scratched the containers. Not sure about the lid - but I don't see a reason to scrape anything off the lid-Very easy to cleanCONS-Take a lot of effort to seal and unlock seal. I wouldn't recommend these containers to someone lacking hand strength-Some might consider these heavy even when emptySNAPWAREI've used these for years and years and gave them away when I converted to OXO Pop storage.PROS-Durable - dropped countless times, nothing happened to them-Extremely cost effective-Easy to open and close-Airtight-Easy to grab/grip-Easy to pour contents-Easy to see through them-They resist scratching pretty well considering we had ours for years, stored all kinds of things in them (unshelled nuts comes to mind) and they weren't really scratched when I gave them awayCONS-They do not stack-Can be a challenge to fill when pouring contents if you're not careful-They do take a little longer to clean than the ClickClack and OXO because of the container's shape. The lid is easy to clean (for the lid - the gasket does slide out easily for me with prodding and dries overnight on the counter on a cloth) but getting the gasket back in correctly requires a little more time and patienceCLICK CLACK WITH SIDE LOCK LIDSI use the ClickClack large canisters for flour, sugar, etc. They are made of a durable, hard plastic. To avoid scratching when scooping contents we use plastic measuring cups and spoons. Initially I purchased some of their round containers as well, but since they didn't fit well with the others didn't keep them.PROS-Easy to lock/unlock lid-Lots if different sizes for different items-They stack well-Airtight-Easy to grab/grip-Easy to see through them-Durable. Several have been dropped - nothing happened to them. That's impressive considering they have been dropped while empty or full (with a box of brown sugar - the added weight didn't cause them to crack).-They don't scratch as easily as the OXO containers-Easy to clean (for the lid - the gasket does slide out easily for me with prodding and dries overnight on the counter on a cloth)CONS-Locking handle on lids breaks. But that was after using for 2-3 years. I use black electrical tape to tape them on over the edge which works, but isn't exactly ideal considering their price. They probably sell a replacement, haven't checked.-The bottoms are scratched where we slide them on and off shelves, but that's not an issue for me.-They do scratch if a stainless utensil is used inside to scrape out contents but that's to be expected with plasticLOCK AND LOCKI use several of the same size of Lock & Lock large rectangular storage containers to stack upon one another, and another longer one for loaves of bread. They are made of a much softer, BPA free plastic than the OXO or ClickClack.PROS-Easy to lock/unlock lid-These are great for storing items in the fridge, they lock well, stack well, and are easy to hand wash clean-Easy to clean (for the lid - the gasket does slide out easily for me by tapping the lid on the counter. Dries overnight on the counter on a cloth)-Lots if different sizes for different items-They stack well-Easy to grab/grip-Easy to clean (for the lid - the gasket does slide out easily for me with prodding and dries overnight on the counter on a cloth)CONS-Not as easy to see through as the ClickClack or the OXO-They break. One was dropped while it was full and the whole bottom cracked along the edge where it was dropped and a large piece broke off rendering it useless-They do scratch if a stainless utensil is used inside to scrape out contents but that's to be expected with plasticI own many different air tight containers and have always wanted someone to review them in one place so I could read before buying. I bought them because my Tupperware started to get that old-Tupperware smell. If these containers are in reach where you can use both hands to get it to you, great. Mine sit on my counter where it's a bit of a stretch to reach for them with both hands. So if you're trying to get it one-handed and don't have the hands of an NBA player, there's no way to grip it. There needs to be some kind of indentation or rubber somewhere that you can actually grip the container and slide it toward you. They store things beautifully. So far I've used for flour, sugar, and powdered sugar. I have a friend I bought some for who uses his to store cereal and rice. My friend is a stroke patient so only has one good hand. The lids popping up like they do make it very easy to open and close the containers, so that's a plus for someone who, again, has a place to put them so they don't have to be pulled toward you with one hand.I purchased rhis back in 2/19/2022 to this day 7/21/2022, the pop top works great with no issues. The 2.4 quart holds 200 sugar packets, stays fresh, keeps the ants out.I purchased 6 more pop top containers since.Oxo is on the pricey side, but worth it.You know the old saying you get what you pay for. This oxo pop top containers will pay for itself and then some.I had one of these with dry ingredients in, and decided, as the seal is such a good vaccuum, to try one for soup to take to work daily. It is absolutely fantastic: so far, totally leak-proof, unlike many other things I have tried, and, having removed the lid (don't bring it to boil with the lid on, it damages the seal mechanism) the soup can be heated in a microwave, or alternatively poured into a mug (it holds about two-thirds of the capacity of one of my mugs) and heated. The benefit over a flask is that even the smallest flask is too big for just a single cup of soup. Highly recommended therefore for both dry and liquid ingredients. The only minor drawback is that the top, as others have noted, takes ages to dry out if immersed in water. I pop mine on the radiator to speed up drying time.I have started buying these containers as I have arthritis in my thumbs. They are perfect for my use and I now have 5.The 3.8 ltr size is great for a full bag of flour but too big for my storage space and a bit big for me to handle.I exchanged it for the 2.3 ltr rectangular oxo good grips pop container. I find the rectangular shape easier to grip and a better fir for storage. The 2.3 takes almost a full bag of flour and I will order more of these containers.HOWEVER it would bw great if there was a 2.5 rectangular size as this would take the full bag of flour without the lid touching the flour.Really great containers. These are better than I hoped they would be. I bought 3 to keep flour in and they were a second choice for me. I really wanted tin tins, saying ‘FLOUR’ on them. I couldn’t find 3 different that met my needs though - so I bought these. I’m very glad I did. The lid works just as described. Press the knob down and the lid seals, press it again, the lid unseals and the knob is a handle.I’m not a person for decanting things from it’s packaging into another container. My wine stays in a bottle and my cornflakes live in their kellog’s box. These containers are excellent for that. A standard 1.5Kg bag of flour fits easily inside the container, and because the walls are transparent the bag is completely visible, so what type of flour it is and how much is left is immediately obvious.Having viewed them as second choice, they have completely exceeded my expectations and would buy them again without hesitation.I really like them,I put a 2K bag of rice in this one but there really is quite a lot of room left, I think it will take 3K dry goods and not much more if you want a little space near the top in order to scoop.I wish they sold a size in the UK between the smaller 2.3L and this 3.8L, that would be a more practical size given dry food comes in 1 or 2k bags and not 1.5kg or 3kg.I have brought these Oxo containers in every size possible, they are great quality, store food products perfectly and totally air tight for dry fruit, baking products etc. perfect and I wouldn't use anything else now. Having purchased a significant number of each size all at the same time did mean rather a large spend but in my opinion well worth the outlay and I am sure they will last for years they really are good quality.
